Presenting our go-to matcha and hojicha recipes. As always we encourage you to be creative, experiment, using these recipes as a starting point - adjust to taste
Iced Matcha Tea
The Perfect Refreshment, Iced Usucha
Ingredients to make a 200ml glass:

2g of YUTORI matcha powder (Around 1 teaspoon)

150 ml water
-
Ice
-
Slice of lemon to taste (optional)

Sift the Matcha
To remove any clumps, sift 2g (around 1 teaspoon) of matcha powder into your chawan (matcha bowl).

Add Hot Water
Pour 30ml of water into the bowl, using your chasen (bamboo whisk) begin to mix the matcha into a thick paste. Gently scrape any excess matcha from the side of the bowl into the mix.

Whisk the Matcha
Add the remaining 170ml of water and whisk vigorously in a zigzag motion until the matcha is well-mixed and has a nice layer of froth.

Serve
Fill your favorite glass with ice and pour over the matcha.
Try adding a slice of lemon to taste.
Enjoy your Iced Usucha!
Iced Matcha Latte
The Summer Classic
Ingredients to make a 220ml tall glass:

3g of IKIGAI matcha powder (Around 1 teaspoon)
-
200 ml plant milk
-
ice

Sift the Matcha
To remove any clumps, sift 3g (around 1 teaspoon) of matcha powder into your chawan (matcha bowl).

Make the milky base
Pour 30ml of plant milk into the bowl. Using your chasen (bamboo whisk) begin to mix the matcha in to a thick paste. Gently scrape any excess matcha from the side of the bowl into the mix.

Prepare the Glass
Fill your favorite glass with ice, add 190ml of plant milk.

Serve
Gently float the matcha over the top of the milk being careful not to let it mix in.
Serve with a reusable straw.
Enjoy!
Iced Hojicha Latte
The Crowd Pleaser
Ingredients to make a 220ml tall glass:
-
5g of hojicha powder (Around 2 teaspoons)
-
200 ml plant milk
-
ice
-
agave (optional)

Sift the Hojicha
To remove any clumps, sift 3g (around 1 teaspoon) of matcha powder into your chawan (matcha bowl).

Make the base
Pour 30ml of plant milk into the bowl, using your chasen (bamboo whisk) begin to mix the hojicha into a thick paste. Gently scrape any excess from the side of the bowl into the mix.

Prepare the Glass
Fill your glass with ice, add 190ml of plant milk.

Serve
Gently float the Hojicha over the top of the milk being careful not to let it mix in.
Try adding agave to introduce some sweetness (optional)
Serve with a reusable straw.
Enjoy!
Matcha Tea
Comforting Usucha
Ingredients to make a 200ml cup:

3g of matcha powder (Around 1 teaspoon)

30 ml cold water
-
200 ml hot water 75°C

Sift the Matcha
To remove any clumps, sift 2g (around 1 teaspoon) of matcha powder into your chawan (matcha bowl).

Add Cold Water
Pour 30ml of cold water into the bowl, using your chasen (bamboo whisk) begin to mix the matcha into a thick paste. gently scrape any excess matcha from the side of the bowl into the mix.

Whisk the Matcha
Add the remaining 170ml of water and Whisk vigorously in a zigzag motion until the matcha well-mixed and has a nice layer of froth.
