DESCRIPTION
Our second Aichi matcha in the MICHI selection comes after extensive tasting of dozens of matcha specfically to find the very best that pairs perfectly with any milk.
To balance with plant milk we were looking for a nutty, creamy, and smooth matcha that highlights all the qualities we love about this tea. This matcha strikes the perfect balance of bitterness and can also be enjoyed as a traditional tea for those who prefer a deeper, nutty flavour profile with a rich, velvety foam.
It is made from a blend of half hand-picked and machine-harvested leaves from four distinguished cultivars: Samidori, Yabukita, Okumidori, and Zairai. Samidori contributes rich umami and vibrant colour; Yabukita brings balanced umami with mild sweetness and subtle grassy notes; Okumidori adds smoothness, delicate sweetness, and balanced astringency; while Zairai offers complex earthy undertones that deepen the flavour.
Together, these cultivars create a well-rounded and nuanced matcha that excels both in lattes and traditional preparations.
