TASTING NOTES

Basil | Peony | Butter

Produced by four friends, Yoshitaka, Shinya, Kosuke and Kazuhiko, young tea farmers all descending from established tea-growing families in and around Sonogi.

Grown on picturesque rolling hills facing Ōmura Bay, these tea plants have a constant, steady flow of cool air as they grow. This slows growth and results in a beautiful matcha with low bitterness, floral high notes and delicate silky texture.

JAKU is crafted with precision from cultivars Tsuyuhikari and Saemidori this small producer from Nagasaki employs a traditional brick furnace to dry the tencha.

This exceptional blend marries the vibrant, gentle sweetness of Saemidori with the light robust umami of Tsuyuhikari.
