TASTING NOTES
HIRO is an exceptional, hand-picked matcha sourced directly from Mr. Yamauchi’s farm in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture. We visited his farm during the most recent harvest and experienced first-hand the meticulous hand-picking techniques and deep commitment to traditional tea cultivation that define his work.
HIRO is crafted from a carefully balanced blend of Saemidori, Samidori, and the rare Komakage cultivar—prized for its gentle sweetness, vivid green colour, and refined, lingering finish. We are particularly drawn to this matcha for its lively yet elegant character. It offers a delicate, silky texture, a captivating aroma, and a well-integrated umami profile. HIRO truly shines as usucha, while retaining remarkable depth and complexity when prepared with milk.
HIRO is only available in extremely limited quantities, with only 40 tins available per month.
